Right about now you may be asking “Datil Pepper? What’s a Datil Pepper?” Check out my previous blog for more information. Still want to know more?   “What the Heck is a Datil Pepper?” is a great article written by Alex Pooler for Visit St. Augustine.   Visit St. Augustine is an in-depth online magazine of all things St. Augustine, Florida.  You’ll find things to do, places to stay, restaurants and bars, shopping and much more.

Can you tell I love Datil Peppers?  My mission is to educate America about the Datil Pepper, one customer at a time while using only the finest quality, all-natural ingredients.  You can’t get more natural than Nuthin’ But Datil.  It’s nothing but beautiful, ripe, golden datil peppers that have been dehydrated and triple ground before being sealed for freshness. These bottles may be small, but there is a LOT of datil deliciousness in each one.

Are you looking for a larger quantity of datil pepper powder?  We can definitely help you there as well since we sell it wholesale in 1 pound and kilo vacuum-sealed bags perfect for micro-breweries, restaurants, and caterers. You can call us at 1-904-599-1178 for more details.

Make your own exquisite gourmet quality coffee

  • at home
  • for a fraction of the cost of the local coffee shop
  • Spice it up any way you want

Back to my coffee break! This is so simple and easy, and may well become your go-to pick-me-up drink during the spring and summer. Brew a pot of freshly ground coffee and the smell will brighten up your kitchen in minutes.

There really is no recipe, just add a few grains of Nuthin’ But Datil to a cup of coffee. You can always add more if that isn’t enough.  Stir in your favorite milk or cream and sugar or sweetener if you like. Play with vanilla, caramel or chocolate syrup. Flavored coffees would work well here too.  Want to take it even further?  Whipped cream and a dash of cinnamon or shaved chocolate make this more like dessert than a drink. A splash of Kahlua or Baileys sound like your style? The fun part is you can make it any way your heart desires and it will be amazing.

Spicy Datil Pepper Iced Coffee

I filled two of my mother’s beautiful iced tea glasses with coffee ice cubes, filled the glasses about 2/3 full with freshly brewed coffee, and added in just a pinch of Nuthin’ But Datil. A splash of unsweetened, vanilla-flavored almond milk for creaminess and 1/2 packet of Stevia in each glass rounded it out. Refreshing and delightful on a bright sunny day here in Florida or anywhere you may be. It will definitely chase away the blues. For extra coffee flavor and to prevent the iced coffee from being watered down, pour a cup of cooled coffee into an ice cube tray and freeze. I go ahead and sweeten the coffee and add just the smallest hint of datil pepper before pouring the coffee into the ice tray. Use these coffee ice cubes instead of regular ice and you’ll be able to enjoy every last drop.

For Coffee Ice Cubes:

  • 1 large cup of cooled coffee

  • Vanilla chocolate syrup or caramel syrup

  • Whipped cream
  • Chocolate curls
  • Kahlua or Baileys

Instructions

  • While coffee is still warm, sweeten to desired taste and add just a pinch of Nuthin But Datil. (You can always add more, but just a few grains of the Nuthin’ But Datil go a LONG way!)
  • Stir to dissolve.
  • Chill coffee in the refrigerator at least 30 minutes so it doesn’t melt the ice cubes.
  • When ready to serve, place coffee ice cubes in a tall glass and pour the cooled coffee over them.
  • Add milk or cream as desired and stir to combine.
  • Sit back and relax. Enjoy the spicy goodness of a tall glass of Datil Pepper Iced Coffee!
