Syrian Rice Pilaf

Ingredients
  

  • 1/3 cup thin spaghetti or vermicelli, broken into half inch pieces
  • 1/3 cup pine nuts or sliced almonds
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 & 1/2 cup rice – either brown or white
  • Water per directions on rice package
  • 1/2-1 teaspoons (to taste) Old St Augustine Datil Jerk Seasoning Blend

Instructions
 

  • In heavy saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Add spaghetti and pine nuts, and stir constantly in the butter until they are a light golden brown.  Be careful not to burn them.
  • Add the rice and the amount of water called for on the package.
  • Bring to a boil, cover tightly, and cook rice per instructions.
  • Fluff rice with a fork and serve alongside the kabobs or other main dish meal.
