Prep Time: 30-45 minutes to allow coffee to coolCook Time: 5 minutes to brew coffeeServes: 2Calories: varies depending on sweetener used and milk or creamI filled two of my mother’s beautiful iced tea glasses with coffee ice cubes, filled the glasses about 2/3 full with freshly brewed coffee, and added in just a pinch of Nuthin’ But Datil. A splash of unsweetened, vanilla-flavored almond milk for creaminess and 1/2 packet of Stevia in each glass rounded it out. Refreshing and delightful on a bright sunny day here in Florida or anywhere you may be. It will definitely chase away the blues. For extra coffee flavor and to prevent the iced coffee from being watered down, pour a cup of cooled coffee into an ice cube tray and freeze. I go ahead and sweeten the coffee and add just the smallest hint of datil pepper before pouring the coffee into the ice tray. Use these coffee ice cubes instead of regular ice and you’ll be able to enjoy every last drop.
While coffee is still warm, sweeten to desired taste and add just a pinch of Nuthin But Datil. (You can always add more, but just a few grains of the Nuthin’ But Datil go a LONG way!)
Stir to dissolve.
Chill coffee in the refrigerator at least 30 minutes so it doesn’t melt the ice cubes.
When ready to serve, place coffee ice cubes in a tall glass and pour the cooled coffee over them.
Add milk or cream as desired and stir to combine.
Sit back and relax. Enjoy the spicy goodness of a tall glass of Datil Pepper Iced Coffee!
Notes
I’ll be in the backyard swing overlooking the pond enjoying mine on this bright sunny May Day.
